Autumn
is in the Air. A time to journey down the back roads and enjoy the
leaves beginning to show their colors. We had a wonderful start to our
new year 2008-209. I was
happy to see so many people at our first meeting.
It was good to visit and catch up and enjoy everyone’s stories
of summer travel and visits.
I
would like to thank our Hospitality co-chairmen Marlys and Becky for getting together a
delightful snack table. The
table looked festive and very inviting.
We have some great bakers and cooks. Great Job Ladies!
Our Vice President Gayle Bieluch was ready with her sign-up sheets for
the interest groups. I hope you had time to sign up for those that you
are interested in. If
you were unable to join us last month please check our website under
Interest Groups and contact the individual chairman so that they can put
you on the list for this year. We will have the sign-up sheets out again
this month. That will give you another chance to add your name. It is a
great way to meet new people in smaller groups and have some FUN!
We have and exciting year planned. Our Program
co-chairmen Anne Daino and
Sue Silver have been very busy at work planning new and different
programs. I hope you will be able to join us each and every month to see
WHO we will have at our meetings. This month we are having Anna Mazur
who will talk to us about Wearable
Art. You can read all about her on our website. I think she will be
very interesting.
Next
month we will be going GREEN. Footprints to Greener Living.
Coming
up in the middle of the month our Special Events planners Faith Weiss
& Janet Hoch have planned a special trip to the New Britain Museum
of American Art. We will have a guided tour of Contemporary Glass:
Chihuly and Beyond. Many of you have shown interest in this trip. I
think it will be very informative.
Just a reminder we have a new chaiman this year.
Letha Kunkel is our Sunshine
Chairman. If you know of anyone in our club that needs special cheering
up, please let Letha know and she will send a card.(lethakunkel@sbcglobal.net
)
Also as a group of friends we like to help other in our group. If you
have your own business and would like to let everyone know what you do,
we will have a special table at our meetings where you can display your
business cards or phamplets. Please, we do not want to take time away
from our speakers. We encourage you to visit with members after our
meetings are over.
